Defi d’Aunou has passed

Defi d’Aunou has died at the age of almost 31 years. The stunning chestnut stallion with the blond mane and tail was bred by the Dubois family in France and stayed with them for the duration of his life.

His lifetime mark was 1.10,9 (1:54.1) and he made almst 2,4 million euros in his racing career. His biggest win came in the Prix de Paris, but he also won the Criterium des 4 ans and Criterium des 5 ans,  Kymi Grand Prix, European Champtionship for 5-year olds, Prix de Croix, Prix de l’Etoile, Prix Rene Balliere, and came second in Prix de France twice, and a strong third and a fourth in Prix d’Amerique. He was also an Elitlopp finalist in one of his few trips outside of France. He won a total of 28 races.

Defi d’Aunou is a son og Armbro Goal e. Speedy Crown, when the French stud book opened a small window to introduce some US blood lines and his dam Nesmile was bred. Defi d’Aunou sired approximately 1200 foals in his homeland of France.
